Abstract

The soapbox is a project in development. The aim is to encourage those
individuals and communities that don’t currently have voice to speak. The
project has two dynamics. Firstly to allow individuals and/or communities
to interject and show their approbation for, or, disapproval of, what is
being said for them by politicians and other civil representatives. In
this we are looking at the way arguments (aural or textual) may be tagged
and commented and voted upon. Secondly, it is aimed to give a platform for
individuals and groups, to express themselves and represent their views
and ideas to others. We are again considering location as a key factor in
this project. We are currently investigating different ways of locating
and spatialising arguments and views and mapping them and their concerns
(e.g. build up of rubbish on street corners).
